What exactly do I do?
I am a teacher.
I teach every student how to use information from books and online sources responsibly. I also work very hard to convince all of you to love reading as much as I do! I am an instructional partner.
I work with the other teachers in the school to plan really fun lessons and use our library's awesome resources. |
I am a program administrator.
I make sure that our library runs smoothly and that all of you get to use the library's resources. This also means that I order new books each year! I am an instructional specialist.
I teach other teachers and your parents about new technologies and tools. |
I am a leader.
Did you know that some schools don't have libraries? As a leader, I work with other libraries and communities to teach people how important libraries are. That way, we can work together to protect school libraries.

What is my philosophy? (This is like asking "What do I believe in or think is really, really important?") I believe that every single person should have access to a library. This includes children, their parents, their best friend, their neighbor, their worst enemy, their babysitter.... EVERYONE! Why? Because school libraries change lives! I work very hard to make sure that every student in our school feels welcomed in our library and believes that it is a safe place for them to read any book they want, take risks, ask and answer questions, work with their friends and explore new ideas. |

What am I reading?
The Magician's Elephant. Goodreads.com. Web.4 Dec. 2015.

I just started reading The Magician's Elephant by Kate DiCamillo because a student recommended it to me. I shared that I liked her other books: The Tales of Despereaux and Flora & Ulysses, and Vivian said this is her favorite Kate DiCamillo book. Anytime I hear that a book is someone's "favorite," I have to read it! Check out the website for The Magician's Elephant if you want to hear more about the book! If you also like Kate DiCamillo's books, you should check out her website. |
